Aasiaat Museum is located near the ocean in the old town area of Aasiaat where the architecture of the colonial era is very noticeable.

The museum has a permanent exhibition that contains information about the Thule culture and various objects in general as well as objects from the Disko Bay area and historical objects, images, and memoirs from Aasiaat.

The museum also hosts non-permanent exhibitions, such as travelling exhibitions and exhibitions by local artists.

Aasiaat Museum has a small gift shop where visitors can buy items such as books, posters, maps and postcards, and Greenlandic crafts and artwork.

The entrance fee is 20 DKK and it is cash only. The museum can by prior arrangement open outside normal opening hours for a fee of 200 DKK per hour plus regular entrance fee per person. Entrance is free for local citizens and guests for educational purposes.
